Condensate P-traps are an important part of HVAC blow-through systems. These systems create condensation while they are working, this condensation falls into a condensate pan and as the pan starts to fill up it will need a way out. The p-trap is installed to allow the condensation to flow into a drainpipe.
P-traps are up to code and widely used in HVAC installations. A P-trap plays the important role of emptying the condensate pan, preventing overflows that can lead to costly repairs. It also suppresses odors and gases.
